The Association's Aims
- To contribute to the responsible innovative and sustainable economic development of the region and
the competitiveness of regional businesses - through education training
and consultancy, technology transfer and business start ups, through
the development of research-led business clusters, by acting as a
magnet to inward investment and through research and teaching related
to sustainability and the environment.
- To widen access to HE in the region and increase the higher level skills available to employers -
through increased numbers of graduates, wider distribution of HE
educational training opportunities, flexible delivery of programmes
designed to meet the needs of students and employers and improved
progression routes to higher education.
- To contribute to the quality and development of public services
in the region through education and training, applied research,
consultancy and participation in regional public service institutions.
- To contribute to the cultural and political development of the Eastern Region -
through their own cultural activity in history, literature and the
arts, through research and teaching about the region and through
participation in the organs of regional civil society and in emerging
regional economic and political structures.
